What to do if you fail jamb 2019?

Nobody really loves to fail right? But apparently this is one life situation one cannot avoid.

If you are reading this post there are few things that must have happened

  1. You have written Jamb a lot of times and you have failed
  2. You are about to write Jamb and you are taking precautions
  3. You just stumbled upon this( weird right? Might be useful for someone you know)

No matter the Reason why you are here you are going to find answers to your questions.

Now let’s get to the point, I am sure you must have pondered day and night on the reason why you never get to pass jamb.

There is really no need to worry because there are always alternatives to situations in life.( Alternatives i mean, Not Shortcuts!)

You might be thinking Jamb 2019 is going to be your last jamb because you have given up already.

Some might even go ahead to the extent of harming themselves ( SAY NO TO SUICIDE!!!)

I’m not here to teach you how to pass Jamb but to provide a means through which you can seek admission into the University of your choice without Jamb.

That must have sounded impossible to you right? Now watch me!

Now what do I do after failing jamb 2019?

Have you heard about Advanced level programs? I guess you haven’t.

Advanced level programs as the name implies are programs you can use to gain direct entry admission into universities of your choice.

But for the sake of this post i will talk about IJMB and JUPEB only.

What is IJMB?

IJMB: meaning Interim Joint Matriculation Board, a 9-month educational programme approved by the federal government. Ahmadu Bello University moderates the program

IJMB is a well-known programme all over the federation especially because of it long time existence. Majority of Nigerians did the programme during their undergraduate days in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s even till date.

IJMB is fully certified by the Nigeria University Commission (NUC) as an ‘A’ Level programme that serves as a mode of entry into the university. It has been designed to serve as an alternative to university admission as it requires no JAMB nor post UTME. It is accepted in 80% of the Nigerian Universities.

Statistics has proven that annually, 20,000 applicants put in for the programme and over 15,000 candidates secure admission with it into 200Level (Direct Entry) to any preferred universities and courses of their choice as compared to JAMB which close to 1.6 million applicants sits for and 20% of them get admitted.

IJMB Registrations 2019/2020 Qualifications

The entry qualification into 2019/2020 IJMB registration is purely Ordinary Level result (O’level) However, candidates awaiting result can also apply.

APPROVED: IJMB is approved by the Federal Government has a platform for securing admission into higher institution in the country and abroad.
IJMB is Guaranteed: Every year, more than 30,000 applicants put in for JUPEB programme in which not less than 70% of candidates secure admission into 200 level to their preferred institution and courses.

Interested IJMB candidates are expected to select any three (3) subjects that are related to their choice of study in the university.

Candidates would then be lectured on the three subjects for a period of 9months. After the 9months candidates would then sit for an exam and would be awarded points.
The points given are: A=5 points, B=4 points, C=3 points, D=2 points, E=1 point, F=0 point.


IJMB PROGRAMME DURATION: The programme runs for a maximum period of one academic session (10month). Academic activities in all our IJMB Study centres begins every April and runs till February. The examination is conducted February/march yearly.

How To Make Use Of Your IJMB Result

If you who wish to make use of their IJMB certificate for admission into 200 Level you are required to visit JAMB website or their nearest office to obtain direct entry (D.E) form, fill them in correlation with your IJMB result, and then submit a copy online and at JAMB office.

What is Jupeb?

Jupeb stands for Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board. The Jupeb Programme originated as a result of different Universities coming together to create an alternative means of tertiary admission for secondary school leavers without JAMB.

The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) was approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. In April 2014 (10) partnering universities led by the University of Lagos came together in a consortium to establish the program.

Nigerian Universities that Accept Jupeb

JUPEB is Proven:

JUPEB Programme has proven to be a good alternative to Gaining Admission into Nigerian universities. Yearly, more than 20,000 students register for jupeb programme and more than 70% of them successfully secure admission with the certificate to their preferred university and desired course of study.

JUPEB Programme is Certified:

The Nigeria University Commission (NUC) has certified the programme as an advanced level examination programme that qualifies students into 200level without JAMB UTME

How Jupeb Works

Prospective JUPEB candidates are required to select any THREE (3) A/L JUPEB Subject Combination plus General studies (English Language) identified with their preferred course of study in the university be it Science, Art or Social Science Course.

Candidates would undergo lectures for 9-10 months after then they will sit for the Jupeb exam in June.
