Things you need to know before Starting IJMB Registration 2022/2023 session
What is IJMB?
IJMB, which stands for Interim Joint Matriculation Board, is a 9-month educational program approved by the federal government. It was established by the Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA) in the year 1976. It is moderated by Ahmadu Bello University, Abu Zaria with coordinating bodies in various tertiary institutions and affiliated study centers nationwide. IJMB is a well-known program all over the federation especially because of it long-time existence. The majority of Nigerians did the program during their undergraduate days in the ’70s, ’80s and 90’s even to date.
IJMB is fully certified by the Nigeria University Commission (NUC) as an ‘A’ Level program that serves as a mode of entry into the university. It has been designed to serve as an alternative to university admission as it requires no JAMB nor post UTME. It is accepted in 80% of Nigerian Universities.
Statistics have proven that annually, 20,000 applicants put in for the program and over 15,000 candidates secure admission with it into 200Level (Direct Entry) to any preferred universities and courses of their choice as compared to JAMB which about 1.6 million applicants sit for and 20% of them get admitted.
