What is IJMB?
IJMB, which stands for Interim Joint Matriculation Board, is a 9-month educational programme approved by the federal government. It was established by the Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA) in the year 1976. It is moderated by Ahmadu Bello university, Abu Zaria with co-ordinating bodies in various tertiary institutions and affiliated study centres nationwide. IJMB is a well-known programme all over the federation especially because of it long time existence. Majority of Nigerians did the programme during their undergraduate days in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s even till date.
IJMB is fully certified by the Nigeria University Commission (NUC) as an ‘A’ Level programme that serves as a mode of entry into the university. It has been designed to serve as an alternative to university admission as it requires no JAMB nor post UTME. It is accepted in 80% of the Nigerian Universities.
Statistics has proven that annually, 20,000 applicants put in for the programme and over 15,000 candidates secure admission with it into 200Level (Direct Entry) to any preferred universities and courses of their choice as compared to JAMB which close to 1.6 million applicants sits for and 20% of them get admitted.
IJMB Registrations 2019/2020Qualifications
The entry qualification into 2018/2019 IJMB registration is purely Ordinary Level result (O’level) However, candidates awaiting result can also apply.
APPROVED: IJMB is approved by the Federal Government has a platform for securing admission into higher institution in the country and abroad.
IJMB is Guaranteed: Every year, more than 30,000 applicants put in for JUPEB programme in which not less than 70% of candidates secure admission into 200 level to their preferred institution and courses.
HOW IJMB WORKS
Interested IJMB candidates are expected to select any three (3) subjects that are related to their choice of study in the university. Candidates would then be lectured on the three subjects for a period of 9months. After the 9months candidates would then sit for an exam and would be awarded points.
The points given are: A=5 points, B=4 points, C=3 points, D=2 points, E=1 point, F=0 point.
IJMB PROGRAMME DURATION: The programme runs for a maximum period of one academic session (10month). The session is divided in two(2) semesters. Academic activities in all our IJMB Study centres begins every April and runs till February. The examination is conducted February/march yearly.
How To Make Use Of Your IJMB Result
Candidates who wish to make use of their IJMB certificate for admission into 200 Level are required to visit JAMB website or their nearest office to obtain direct entry (D.E) form, fill them in correlation with your IJMB result, and then submit a copy online and at JAMB office.

How to go about IJMB Registration 2020/2021 session
There are two ways to go about the registration:
Candidates can go ahead to our IJMB Registration centres in the different parts of the country to obtain the form.
The second way is to register through our Registration Portal.
N.B: Candidates are to note that the official fee for Ijmb registration 2020/2021 session is #8,000.
